What if tonight you could be taken in the middle of the night and forced to join a child army, kill your parents and have your life completely changed forever? Well, that is exactly what Kony’s army is all about. Whether or not you want to face the reality and believe it to be true or not, this is happening and needs to be stopped.
Before first viewing the Kony 2012 video I was unaware of the “Invisible Children” campaign. How is it that something like this can be going on, and yet many Americans have no knowledge of it? After viewing this video I felt many emotions, many of us are completely unaware of what is going on in these countries to people that are just like us. I think this campaign is a brilliant way to bring attention to this issue, the more publicity that is brought upon this; the sooner we can help these children and families.
The campaign is simple. Bring attention to Kony’s every move. It is as simple as that.
It is remarkable that a campaign that has recently gained so many followers has been done mostly through social media. Just a few years ago, campaigning a course of action through social media sites and on the Internet would have been unheard of. Yet, The Invisible Children film StopKony2012 became the fastest viral video of all time, getting to 100 million viewers faster than any video.
These families and children need help. Anyone, and everyone should watch this video to at least become familiar with what is taking place throughout our world. We are all so blessed and it is hard to imagine that someone this awful can get away with this.
